Frequently asked questions

How do I connect my store?

Open Tally from the menu bar, enter your .myshopify.com store URL, and click Connect. You'll be redirected to authorize read-only access to your store data.

What data does Tally access?

Tally has read-only access to your orders, revenue, and analytics. It never modifies, creates, or deletes any data in your store.

Where is my data stored?

Your store data is only kept in memory while the app is running โ€” nothing is saved to disk. Your access token is stored securely in the macOS Keychain.

How do I get order notifications?

Notifications are enabled by default. Make sure Tally has notification permissions in System Settings > Notifications. You can toggle sound on or off from the app settings.

What are live checkouts?

Live checkouts show customers who are currently in the checkout process. You can see which products they're buying, where the traffic is coming from, and their location.

Why did a checkout disappear?

Checkouts are automatically removed after 10 minutes of inactivity, as they are likely abandoned or completed.

Is Tally free?

Tally is free for stores with fewer than 50 orders per month. For larger stores, Tally Pro is available at $4.99/month with a 14-day free trial.

How do I manage my subscription?

Your subscription is managed through Shopify billing. You can view or cancel it from your Shopify admin under Settings > Billing.

How do I disconnect my store?

Click the disconnect button in the bottom bar of the Tally dashboard. This removes your access token from the Keychain.

What macOS version is required?

Tally requires macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later.
